Our Journey Since 1981

The Kappa Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on May 30, 1981, at the University of Illinois Chicago. The chapter holds the distinguished honor of being the last chapter chartered by a living Founder, Founder Edward G. Irvin, marking a significant moment in the fraternity’s history.

Since its inception, Kappa Phi has remained committed to the fundamental purpose of achievement, developing and initiating over 100 brothers who have gone on to make meaningful contributions within the fraternity and the broader community. Through its legacy of leadership, service, and excellence, the chapter continues to leave a lasting and impactful presence throughout the city of Chicago.
